Test Boost vs TestoGen – Which One Should You Get?

Test Boost vs TestoGen – Which one is better at raising your anabolic hormone testosterone? Both products are completely natural and side-effect-free, meaning anyone can take them legally without any issues. They use natural plant extracts that help your body build more of its own T, along with boosting muscle gains, reducing fat mass, and increasing your libido.

Sounds good? Let’s check our Test Boost vs TestoGen short summary first, and then move onto our full in-depth review!

[TEST BOOST VS TESTOGEN SUMMARY] While Test Boost by Sculpt Nation is more focused on lowering cortisol and stress levels, TestoGen’s ingredients are more suited for helping with libido and muscle building. Both formulas are lacking some key ingredients for testosterone, and neither one really addresses the mental aspect of male health (e.g. confidence, focus, motivation, and other things that are crucial for staying active and healthy). Some of TestoGen’s key ingredients are underdosed, and some come in cheap forms that are less bioavailable. Test Boost comes with 90 capsules per bottle, and TestoGen has 120. TestoGen is a bit more expensive but offers better deals if you buy it in bulk. However, neither one offers the whole package – the physical and mental boost – which is why we don’t rate them as the very best products you can get right now.

Test Boost vs TestoGen – The Basics

Test Boost Overview

Sculpt Nation Test Boost is a product focused on not just boosting T levels, but also managing cortisol and improving your overall quality of life as a man.

Containing 90 capsules per bottle, it promises to:

  • Boost Muscle Gains – improve muscle protein synthesis and protect muscle tissue from catabolism
  • Reduce Stress – lowers cortisol which can be detrimental for testosterone.
  • Get Leaner – lose body fat more quickly with a faster metabolism.
  • Better Recovery – less inflammation, feel better in and out of the gym.

Test Boost comes with a 3-capsules-serving per day. You take it all at once. We’ve found this to be great for spiking T levels momentarily, but not the best for continual boost in T levels. It’s best to separate the capsules throughout the day to maintain the effects.

Another thing. If you analyze the studies behind Sculpt Nation Test Boost’s claims, it’s clear many of them are either not done on humans, have been done poorly, or have a very low sample size. The company is known for their aggressive marketing tactics, so this doesn’t come as a huge surprise.

Still, we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt with Test Boost since they’re a relatively new company and trying to make their name out there.

Below, we’ll look at the actual scientific studied behind Test Boost’s ingredients to see what it really can (and can’t) do.

TestoGen Overview

TestoGen is a highly focused T booster aiming to naturally raise the levels of your key anabolic hormone, along with ramping up your sex drive and performance.

It comes with 120 capsules per bottle, and has a superior serving size of 4 capsules spread throughout the day. This results in a more even testosterone boost.

TestoGen is an old-school supplement; it’s been on the market since 2009, and produced by a company from Cyprus known as Wolfson Berg. You may have heard of some of their other popular supplements, such as PhenQ weight loss pill.

TestoGen, just like Test Boost, comes with some downsides of its own, so it’s not all perfect. It’s also more expensive of the two, so you may wonder, does TestoGen’s benefits on your body and testosterone justify it’s higher price, and is it a better value than Test Boost overall?

We find out below.

The Formulas

Test Boost and TestoGen have very different formulas. Test Boost by Sculpt Nation is more focused on reducing stress and cortisol, which can indirectly contribute to you having more testosterone by creating hormonal homeostasis. You could say it’s like this: less stress=more testosterone.

TestoGen, on the other hand, is more focused on libido and muscle building. TestoGen actually has a few better ingredient choices than Test Boost when it comes to directly encourage your body to make more T.

That said, neither formula is perfect – both TestoGen and Test Boost are missing some core ingredients for reducing estrogen, increasing testosterone synthesis, and improving mood and confidence.

Here’s a closer look:

Test Boost Ingredients

  • Ashwagandha Root Extract (KSM-66) (600mg) – This is an excellent choice for lowering cortisol. It can reduce the stress hormone by up to 30% according to a study. By having less stress, you’ll find it easier to build muscle and burn fat, because stress hormones negatively impact our health markers.
  • Tribulus Terrestris fruit (500mg) – This is a poor ingredient choice. Tribulus can help support prostate health at best, but it’s ineffective at raising libido or testosterone levels.
  • Eleuthero Root (200mg) – This is also known as Siberian Ginseng. It can help with mood and stress; not very effective for testosterone.
  • Epimedium Grandiflorum (Bishop’s Hat) (160mg) – Bishop’s Hat is an ingredient you won’t commonly find in T boosters, because it’s lacking evidence to confirm it works.
  • Hawthorn Berry (40mg) – This has some general health benefits but nothing specific for testosterone.
  • Eurycoma Longifolia “LongJack” (20mg) – LongJack is one of the best natural libido boosters. It can help you with erections too. It doesn’t have an effect on testosterone, though!
  • American Ginseng Root (20mg) – Another form of Ginseng, American Ginseng can help fight fatigue. Again, it’s one of the unproven ingredients for T boosting.
  • Cordyceps Mycelium Extract (20mg) – Cordyceps is a mushroom with numerous health benefits, one of them being a stronger immune system. However, Test Boost uses the ‘mycelium’ version of Cordyceps, which means it’s grown on grain. This makes it lose most of its potency, compared to ‘fruiting body’ version of Cordyceps mushroom. And while it’s a decent ingredient, it’s not the best choice for this type of supplement.

TestoGen Ingredients

TestoGen has a few better ingredient choices when it comes to testosterone, as you’ll see below. However, it too has some downsides we couldn’t look past.

For example, Testogen’s key ingredients are underdosed, and some of them also come in cheaper (and weaker) forms. E.g. it uses vitamin K1 as opposed to vitamin K2 which has a stronger impact on testosterone.

See for yourself:

  • Magnesium – An essential element that helps raise free and total T levels. However, the best form of Mg for test boosting is “Aspartate.” Testogen uses citrate which is less bioavailable to your body.
  • D-Aspartic Acid – A great ingredient that can help boost T levels temporarily, but its effects wear off over time.
  • Fenugreek  – This sacrifices DHT, a very important anabolic hormone, in order to make more T, thus potentially creating a hormonal disbalance. Or in plain English: NOT a good ingredient!
  • Vitamin B6  – B6 can boost your energy if you’re deficient in it – making it great for working out.
  • Zinc – Zinc helps balance hormones and also strengthens your immune system. A good choice!
  • Boron – A trace mineral that has been shown to significantly affect testosterone, but only at doses of 10mg or higher per day. Testogen only has 8mg per daily serving.
  • Vitamin K1 – Vitamin K works together with vitamin D to improve bone strength. But when it comes to testosterone, it’s less potent than vitamin K2. v
  • Vitamin D – Vitamin D is essential for your body to produce and synthesize testosterone. It can also help with mood and cognitive sharpness. An excellent choice all in all!
  • Nettle Leaf Extract – Nettle has anti-inflammatory effects and so it’s often used to treat nasal swelling, prostate issues, and other inflammatory conditions. However, it hasn’t been shown to raise testosterone.
  • Red Ginseng – This is also known as Panax Ginseng, an ingredient that can boost blood flow for better erections and general quality of life (increased circulation is associated with better performance & recovery).
  • Bioperine – Although BioPerine doesn’t affect T, it’s still a great choice because it enhances the potency of the rest of TestoGen’s formula.

Key Takeaway: Neither Test Boost or Testogen are perfect when it comes to boosting T. Test Boost is lacking core ingredients like vitamin D3, Mg, Zinc, and many others. Testogen does have an advantage in that regard, but some of its key ingredients are either underdosed or don’t come in optimal forms (e.g. vitamin K1, magnesium citrate etc.). Neither of these two testosterone boosters target the mental aspect of health and performance – including focus, mood, motivation, and other cognitive functions that will keep you staying active and pursuing your goals.

Test Boost vs Testogen: Side Effects

TestoGen is manufactured according to the strictest cGMP standards, and so is Test Boost. They’re fairly safe and well-regulated supplements.

Both of these supplements’ ingredients are 100% natural, they don’t work like steroids and don’t make you dependant on them. They simply provide natural nutrients that may support your body in producing more of its own T or better managing stress.

That said, TestoGen does use magnesium citrate, which may give you diarrhea if you take it on an empty stomach or over-do it with servings! It’s a draw here nonetheless!

Obviously, the standard warnings still apply here. Talk with your MD if you aren’t sure if these products are right for you – especially if you have any type of condition!

Price and Value for Money?

Test Boost is available in the UK, USA, and the rest of the world and you can only currently buy it on the official website. It costs $49 per bottle, and each bottle lasts you a month.

TestoGen is the more expensive of the two, costing $59.99 for a month’s supply. TestoGen is a bit cheaper if you’re buying it from the US, and offers better deals if you buy multiple boxes – e.g. buy 3 get 2 bottles free. Check Testogen’s Price Here.

Although neither one of these T boosters are among the best rated on the market right now, we’d pick TestoGen over Test Boost in terms of value for money and company reputation.

Our Conclusion to Test Boost vs TestoGen

So that ends our Test Boost vs TestoGen comparison. Which of these two natural test boosters will give you better results?

In my opinion, Test Boost is better for managing stress, and reducing the impact of cortisol on muscle gains, fat accumulation, and general quality of life. If you’re extremely stressed all the time, then reducing it with natural herbs like Ashwagandha (found in Test Boost) can indirectly have an impact on your other hormones – including testosterone.

That said, Test Boost only comes with 1-2 servings per day, and doesn’t really address testosterone directly. So it’s quite ineffective in that regard compared to some of our top-rated T boosters.

TestoGen is more focused on directly boosting muscle gains and libido. It’s got LongJack which is a great sex drive enhancer, as well as D-Aspartic Acid and vitamin D which can boost your testosterone levels. Still, TestoGen’s forms of ingredients are cheaper compared to other products in this price range, and many of its ingredients are underdosed. Therefore, I don’t rate it as the best option you can buy right now.

If you’re looking for the whole package – more muscle, less body fat, better performance in the bedroom, and improved mood & cognitive well-being – then you’ll want to do more research, because there are definitely better options available out there!

    Appreciate it.

    1. Dallas,

Good question. It depends on your age and goals, mainly. Right now there are only 2 options that we consider to be the best of the best on the market – TestoFuel and Centrapeak.

In my opinion, TestoFuel still remains the #1 test booster for younger people (40 or younger) who want to build as much lean muscle as naturally possible. It’s got a natural formula and a strong dose of all the key ingredients. Athletes love it, and it’s completely side-effect-free. Their website has more info if you’re interested: https://www.testofuel.com/

That said, some of the guys in our office prefer Centrapeak, which is more of an all-around masculinity enhancer. We’ve found it to not only decrease our stress levels, but it’s also helped with erections, libido, and muscle recovery from gym sessions. It’s a more balanced T enhancer with significantly more emphasis on helping modern, mature, stressed-out men get the best out of life. Here’s their website if you want to check it: https://www.centrapeak.com/

We’ve also now added links to the “top 3 list” of the current highest-rated testosterone boosters in the article – hope that helps!
