Purely Inspired MCT Oil Review – Should You Buy it?

Here’s our Purely Inspired MCT Oil Review! If you’re looking to find out all the important facts about this supplement, keep reading as we aim to see how it compares to other MCT products in terms of quality and benefits!

[PURELY INSPIRED MCT OIL SUMMARY] This product contains 100% MCT Oil with no added fillers, which is great. But it’s not derived from organic coconuts like Performance Lab’s MCT Oil or other best reviewed MCT Oil products. This isn’t a huge surprise though as most MCT oils you’ll come across are hydrogenated and processed with hexanes, making them lower quality but cheaper to manufacture! Don’t get us wrong – Purely Inspired’s MCT Oil will still give you an energy boost and help with ketosis, and it’s a decent option for anyone who can’t afford anything better at the moment. But if you’re looking for the cleanest MCTs derived from 100% organic, cold-pressed coconut oil, then this isn’t the product for you.

The only question is, is Purely Inspired MCT Oil really top notch quality? And how does it compare to other best reviewed products in the MCT category?

We share our thoughts below!

Ingredients

The only ingredient in Purely Inspired MCT Oil is, you’ve guessed it – MCT Oil derived from coconuts. It’s nice to see a 100% clean formula with no unnecessary fillers.

MCT Oil is a very versatile ingredient that you can use for different goals. From applying it to your skin to using it in cooking or even taking it alone in a tablespoon.

Okay, sounds good… but what does MCT Oil actually do? What are its benefits?

MCT Oil is a medium-chain triglyceride, a type of saturated fat. But unlike most other fats, MCTs absorb in your body very fast. Your liver is able to quickly utilize MCTs and convert them to energy. This makes it a great ingredient for you ketogenic freaks out there!

In some studies, MCTs have shown some minor fat loss effects via the increase in the metabolism and fat breakdown. But this effect is very weak, you shouldn’t expect MCT oil to start suddenly burning away unwanted fat – at least not on its own. (more on how MCT works here: https://examine.com/supplements/mcts/)

But there’s another, bigger problem with MCT oil…

The Issue With MCT Oil

Here’s the thing: MCTs are generally considered healthy fats from coconut oil – but coconut oil isn’t always high quality.

Low quality MCT oils are made from hydrogenated coconut oil. This type of coconut oil is often chemically processed with hexanes. In this form, it can go rancid pretty quickly and make you sick.

Many products use C6-C12 MCTs which are linked to digestive upset and less beneficial.

You ask, what does that have to do with Purely Inspired MCT Oil? Isn’t it pure?

While the manufacturers say that it’s non-GMO, they aren’t as clear about the manufacturing of Purely Inspired MCT Oil. We don’t know if it’s made from hydrogenated coconut oil, or chemically processed with hexanes.

The Label of Purely Inspired MCT Oil says its derived from coconut oil, not organic coconut oil. This isn’t a big surprise though!

You should keep in mind that most MCT oils out there are chemically processed with hexanes and derived from hydrogenated coconut oil. These types of oils will do you more harm than good.

**SIDE NOTE: If you’re curious, everyone in our office currently uses Performance Lab’s MCT Oils which contain C8+C10 MCTs from organic coconuts. It’s the cleanest quality MCT oil we’ve tested so far.

How to Take Purely Inspired MCT Oil?

Purely Inspired MCT oil recommended dose is 1 tablespoon (1 serving) once per day. You should also make sure to drink 8-10 glasses of water for general health.

If you find you’re having digestive upset from using Purely Inspired MCT Oil, try taking only half a tablespoon. The more processed MCTs are, the harder can they be on the digestion.

Side Effects

MCT oils are generally considered safe. But again, as we said, it’s possible that lower quality MCT oils give you stomach cramps, diarrhea or other gastrointestinal side effects.

The best way to avoid these is to start with a very low dose of MCT and work your way up from there!

Price and Value for Money?

Each container of Purely Inspired MCT Oils contains 31 servings, and it costs $29.99. It’s currently available on the official website, Amazon, as well as in stores like Walmart and Walgreens.

While the price isn’t eye watering, Purely Inspired MCT Oils doesn’t appear to be organic certified. For roughly the same money you can get cleaner quality MCT oil.

As mentioned, our current favorite is Performance Lab’s MCT Oil derived from cold-pressed organic coconut oil.

Conclusion to Purely Inspired MCT OIL Review
