*Updated

Today we have EHP Labs OxyShred review for you. OxyShred is one of the most popular Thermogenic fat burner supplements on sale. It comes in 7 different flavors and promises to help boost your energy levels and focus, so you can stay on track with your diet.

Costing $69.95 per tub, OxyShred is also reported to help:

  • Increase your metabolism
  • Boost metabolic rate through thermogenesis
  • Stimulate fat breakdown for energy

OxyShred is a natural product consisting of amino acids, plant extracts, vitamins and other fat-burning ingredients to help support your goals. However, OxyShred also contains a high amount of stimulants, which increases the risk of unwanted side effects. Another downside is that OxyShred comes as a supplement powder that you mix and drink, not as capsules. (Capsules are generally shown to be more effective due to more precise dosing).

So, is OxyShred any good for weight loss? Will it help you reach your goals? A lot of people are talking about it, but you may wonder if it’s good value for money. Join us as we dissect all of its pros and cons below!

What do we recommend?

OxyShred Review – The Basics

What does OxyShred do for you? Basically, it’s made for men and women who’re looking to burn some fat, get leaner, and achieve higher fitness levels within a reasonable period of time.

It works by targeting your fat stores and increasing your metabolism, which results in more calories being burnt, and ultimately – fat loss. But one thing that’s unique about this powdered fat burner is that it also works as a pre workout. You can take it before your training to improve results.

It arrives in a 300g container with 60 servings (5 grams per serving). The recommended dose is 2 scoops per day, which we think is a bit too high. OxyShred has stimulants so it’s better to be cautious (detailed explanation below).

The product has been launched in 2016 and has enjoyed massive popularity ever since. But how does it compare to the current market leaders?

How to Use OxyShred to Lose Weight

Here are OxyShred dosage directions and instructions, as stated on the label.

For best results take one scoop with a glass of chilled water first thing in the morning, and on training days, take the second scoop 15 minutes before exercise. According to the manufacturers, you should avoid consuming food or a protein shake within 20 minutes after taking OxyShred for better absorption.

Some people wonder , can you take OxyShred every day? And our answer to that is… drums rolling… it depends. It depends on if you can tolerate it, and if you want the beneficial effects to last. Because realistically, you’ll build up a tolerance taking it every day.

If you want to preserve the benefits, some people like to take it one day then take two days off. Others like to save it only for their hardest workouts. But of course, if you’re looking for the fat burning benefits, then you’ll want to keep taking it every day to ensure continuous fat loss.

OxyShred Before or After Workout

Some people ask us whether it’s better to take OxyShred before or after workout, including running and cardio. And the answer is obvious – it’s before the workout. This is when you’ll need the energy to push through those demanding exercises. Especially if you’re on a calorie restricted diet.

OxyShred Flavors

OxyShred comes in 7 different flavors. These include pink grapefruit, melon and orange gummy flavors.

Each person has their own taste, but for the most part, OxyShred flavors enjoy decent reviews online. If you ask us, we think that EHP Labs did a pretty good job at masking some of the more disguisting herbs and botanical ingredients in OxyShred. The aftertaste is not too bad either. Our only complaint is sweetness, but that’s because we don’t like too intense flavors.

Our Thoughts on OxyShred Ingredient Profile

OxyShred Thermogenic Fat Burner Ingredients List Facts

OxyShred is a mixed bag of everything. There’s both good, bad, and downright terrible in this product. Synephrine shouldn’t be used in any supplement. It’s known to cause serious side effects. Other ingredients, such as L-Carnitine, are overhyped and don’t lead to fat loss. But it’s not all bad. Caffeine is reasonably dosed, it has a decent appetite suppressant (Garcinia Cambogia) and there are a few good mood boosters to help you with your workouts as well. But on the whole? We don’t feel it’s the best option to take long-term. Have a look below for our detailed ingredient analysis of OxyShred.

OxyShred Fat Burner Ingredients:

1. Vitamin C – Antioxidant

This is a nutrient you’ll find in most people’s diets. It’s found in foods like fruits and vegetables, and can help boost the antioxidant activity of your body. Meaning? It makes your body better equipped to deal with stress, toxins, sleep deprivation, etc. Supplementing with vitamin C never hurts; however, it’s not an effective weight loss ingredient.

2. B Vitamins – Core Ingredients for Overall Health

These are the core building blocks of your body and brain. Without B vitamins, we wouldn’t be able to live. They’re responsible for numerous enzymatic processes that occur every second, including the metabolism, blood sugar regulation, and a lot more. So just from this alone, it’s clear that we need B vitamins to stay healthy and lean. In fact, being deficient in any of the B vitamins can lead to a cascade of side effects that ultimately result in weight gain. These might include weak energy, low motivation and willpower, and even slower metabolism. All of the B vitamins are water-soluble and don’t get stored in your body. So if you can’t get them through food alone, supplementation is a good insurance policy against deficiency.

3. Acetyl L-Carnitine – Might Boost Cognition

Acetyl L-Carnitine is a popular ingredient in many supplements. Typically you’ll see the basic “L-Carnitine” in some weight loss products. The “Acetyl” part of L-Carnitine helps it cross the blood-brain barrier, so it brings some cognitive benefits. When you’re deficient in carnitine, your mitochondria can start having trouble converting fat to energy. But here’s the deal… almost no one is carnitine deficient. Our bodies make it on their own just fine, and we also get carnitine from foods. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Carnitine hasn’t been proven to lead to major weight loss in reputable clinical studies.

4. Inulin Fiber – Undigestable Compound, Fills You Up

Here’s the thing with this one: it can help you feel fuller, but you need to take it in high enough amounts. The issue with OxyShred Fat Burner is that it doesn’t disclose the amounts of ingredients that are in the proprietary blend. And yes, Inulin Fiber is one of those ingredients. If you really want to feel this fiber swelling in your stomach and keeping you full, then you’ll need to take it in grams. Maybe even dozens of grams. OxyShred Fat Burner doesn’t have that much.

5. Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) – Negligible Effects on Fat Loss

CLA is a mixture of fatty acids that are known to act on our body’s PPAR system. This is theorized to help with weight loss. However, we’d like to see more science proving this. At the moment, most studies around CLA show that its effects on the PPAR system are too weak to lead to any noticeable difference.

6. Raspberry Ketones – Ineffective for Fat Burning

Raspberry Ketones is an ingredient you’ll sometimes see in fat burners. It’s a molecule sourced from red raspberries. It’s got a lot of hype over the years because it has the word ‘ketones’ in its name. If you didn’t know, ketones are fuel that your body uses when you stop eating carbs. So instead of glucose, your body starts breaking down fat to makes ketones.

We like the marketing behind Raspberry Ketones; we think it’s really creative. But does it work? It does not!

Basically, what you’ll hear from manufacturers that put this ingredient in their supplements – such as EHP Labs OxyShred – is that Raspberry Ketones somehow make your body more efficient at using fats for energy. The exact same thing that happens when you enter ketosis.

But according to science, oral doses of this ingredient haven’t been proven to do anything really. I know, there’s a lot of hype behind it, but the hype is unjustified.

7. Grapefruit Extract – It Works, But It’s Potentially Unsafe

According to Examine.com, Grapefruit is known for having a high level of bioactivity in our body. It does seem to help with fat loss, and can boost energy levels when combined with caffeine. However, there’s a downside to this ingredient, and that is that it has interactions with many other supplements and medications. Some of the compounds in Grapefruit extract are known to inhibit the enzymes in our liver that break down some of these medications, which can make these medications stay longer in our system – leading to potentially severe side effects. This is why we don’t quite rate it as one of the best fat burning ingredients.

8. Guggul Extract Powder (Guggulsterone) – Unproven Ingredient

This is a disappointing inclusion by EHP Labs. Guggul Extract isn’t proven to help with anything much, not even weight loss. Some studies have looked into its effects on thyroid hormones, but the results weren’t as good as they expected. So basically, it’s a pointless ingredient that only wastes space in OxyShred.

9. African Wild Mango – Another Pointless Ingredient

Sadly this is yet another ingredient that doesn’t do much for your weight loss goals. The lack of evidence behind its fat burning effects should be a good reason enough to not include it in a supplement like OxyShred. But for some reason, EHP Labs decided to use it anyways. Why? We aren’t sure! Besides helping with the transport of fiber and some fatty acids, it doesn’t actually speed up fat loss in any way.

10. Green Coffee Bean Extract – Eases Carbohydrate Absorption

Basically, what this ingredient will do is help your body become more efficient at absorbing carbs. Instead of letting the body store it all into fat, Green Coffee Bean will help slow down the release of carbs so they’re used for energy instead. Green Coffee Bean also has some slight stimulatory properties. Nothing like caffeine, but you might notice it. It’s a good ingredient all in all – great choice by EHP Labs!

11. Olive Leaf Extract – Supports Cardiovascular Function

Unlike olive oil which is extracted from the fruit of olive plants. Olive leaf extract is sourced from the leaves which contain high amounts of beneficial compounds. Including oleuropein.

Essentially, these are shown to have cardioprotective qualities; helping to reduce LDL cholesterol and supporting glucose metabolism. It might even improve your skin health.

It’s not the most powerful fat burner we’ve seen though.

12. Higenamine HCL – Banned Ingredient, Not a Smart Choice

Higenamine HCL is a stimulant compound that can lead to some serious side effects. Especially when you combine it with caffeine and other stimulants in OxyShred fat burner. You’ll see it in some pre workout supplements and energy drinks too, but we feel there are safer options available that work just as well.

13. Chromium Picolinate – Helps Stabilize Blood Glucose

Chromium is a trace mineral that reduces your blood sugar levels after eating a meal. So in essence, it helps to prevent those insulin spikes that leave you feeling tired and foggy after lunch. It’s a great ingredient that doesn’t necessarily boost fat loss – but it can help reduce fat accumulation.

14. OxyShred Immunity Booster Blend (2.075g)

As you see from the name, this blend contains ingredients that are combined to help you fight stress and illness. Sounds great on the paper, but all it contains is vitamin C and glutamine. We’ve covered vitamin C above – it’s a good ingredient, but obviously doesn’t do miracles. But what about glutamine? It’s an amino acid that your body can make on its own, which means it’s semi-essential. It doesn’t really help much unless you’re training hard and break down your muscle fibers often.

15. OxyShred Mood Enhancer Blend (1.25g)

This blend contains of three main ingredients – Caffeine, Taurine, and L-Tyrosine. We like the idea of putting mood enhancing ingredients in a fat burner. This can obviously help with the mental aspect of dieting, and can help with your workouts as well. The concerning part, however, is that we don’t know the doses of most of these ingredients, we can only see the blend’s total dose. Which prevents us from assessing how safe and effective they will be for you.

Anything Missing?

With all of these ingredients in EHP Labs’ OxyShred Fat Burner, there’s no way anything is missing from it, correct?

Surprisingly, the answer is no. There’s actually quite a few ingredients that we rate as the best ones on the market that OxyShred hasn’t included. Amongst them we have:

  • Cayenne Pepper – Helps with thermogenesis, makes your metabolism better at burning calories
  • Glucomannan – One of the best natural appetite suppressants. It’s a dietary fiber that swells in your stomach and makes you feel satiated. The best of all, you need very little of it to have a positive effect.
  • Zinc – It’s n crucial mineral that essentially staves off stress from destroying your hormones and leading to weight gain.

OxyShred is also missing black pepper extract to tie all the other ingredients together and improve their absorption in the body.

Many of its ingredients aren’t proven to work for weight loss, as you’ve seen above. So instead of those, OxyShred could’ve included some of the ones from this list – it would certainly make it into a more powerful supplement.

Side Effects

What are some of the side effects of OxyShred? Is OxyShred dangerous? These are just some of the questions you’ll see pop up when searhing for this fat burner online.

In short, yes, OxyShred does come with potential side effects, due to the sheer number of ingredients it’s using. Another thing is that this fat burner is served as a drink. And so dosing it becomes a little tricky when there are so many ingredients inside.

You can easily overdo it on some of the more aggressive stimulants. Yes, we’re talking about you Bitter Orange! It’s an ingredient that’s bad for the heart, which means you should talk to a qualified professional before using it. Always talk to an actual MD before trying any supplement, and remember that this article doesn’t offer advice!

Another ingredient that’s risky is Grapefruit extract. It’s known to have negative interactions with many other compounds.

Add on top of that the fact that you can’t tell the doses of the actual ingredients, as they’re all masked behind proprietary blends. And you’ve got yourself a recipe for a risky concoction (literally).

So can OxyShred cause anxiety? Yes, it can, due to caffeine and Bitter orange combination. Can it burn muscle? We wouldn’t go that far; if anything, it’s muscle sparing.

Does OxyShred Work?

Yes, OxyShred definitely works. It contains some of the more powerful stimulants (a combination of them, in fact) that can increase your energy levels and mental stamina. But do these benefits come at the cost of side effects? After all, we’re talking about stimulants here. They’re not for everybody. If you can tolerate them, you should be fine. But if not, you might not like the spike-crash effects of OxyShred.

OxyShred Real Customer Reviews

OxyShred reviews can be found all over the internet; including on Reddit, online forums, web shops and other places online. With so many reviews, it can be hard to gauge which ones are legitimate and which ones are a load of crap!

This is why we don’t like to depend on customer testimonials when basing our opinion about products in our reviews. We rather like to test it for ourselves, and look at the science behind its ingredients – this tells us everything we need to know about the product. Including if it works or not, and whether it’s safe.

Nevertheless, our team did some digging and found what we believe are real and honest reviews from customers who bought OxyShred. So if you want to know a little more about what others think about OxyShred, here are a few interesting experiences.

“Great Pre-Workout but this strawberry kiwi flavor doesn’t taste like strawberry kiwi at all. It just tastes like I put a packet of stevia in water and drank it.”

Matthew Thompson (Amazon Customer)

“1 scoop is great. 1/2 or more of a scoop and the heart rate is then uncomfortable. kiwi strawberry has a decent taste. Will continue to use and then purchase the Mango as I’ve heard great things about it.”

Brianna (Amazon Customer)

Did not feel energized . Did not help with my work out. I have been feeling very sick after a few hours of drinking it.

Can OxyShred Make You Gain Weight?

OxyShred shouldn’t make you gain weight. Consuming excess calories, having a metabolic disorder, or not being active enough can. OxyShred’s ingredients are beneficial for weight loss. While Oxyshred is not the best fat burner we’ve seen, you’ll notice the results if you combine this product with a good weight loss program.

OxyShred Before and After Results

So, what results can you expect from using EHP Labs OxyShred Fat Burner?

Obviously, an increase in energy levels is one of the first things you’ll notice. This is due to the stimulants in OxyShred, such as caffeine and Synephrine.

Over the long term, this product should help curb your sweet tooth and cravings in general.

In terms of fat loss, the effects aren’t up to par with some of the other fat burners on the market, in our opinion.

Let’s also not forget that before and after results of OxyShred can vary drastically from individual to individual. So for you it might work great, but for others the stimulants might do more harm than good.

Pros and Cons

The Good

  • It’s not over-caffeinated
  • 7 flavors to choose from
  • May support energy levels and mental function

The Bad

  • Served as a drink, making it hard to accurately dose the crucial ingredients
  • A bit pricey
  • Potentially unsafe combinations of stimulants
  • Contains Synephrine (Bitter Orange Extract) which is known to cause adverse side effects

Our Conclusion to EHP Labs OxyShred Review

So, what’s our final thoughts in this EHP Labs OxyShred review?

OxyShred is a product that will work well for some people, but for others, it may leave them disappointed.

If you’re someone who’s already tried stimulants like Synephrine and love their aggressive effects, then you should look into OxyShred.

If you prefer a safer, more reliable long-term solution for fat loss, then this isn’t the product for you. It simply has too much ‘fluff’, aka, unecessary ingredients that could lead to adverse side effects. On the other hand, it’s missing some of our favorite fat burners.

If you want our personal opinion? We don’t think it’s worth it. The price of $70 is high, so you’d naturally expect more from it. The fact that it is served as a drink doesn’t help.

Capsule fat burners have generally been preferred as more effective, as they contain precise doses of ingredients. Something you’ll find hard to achieve with powders… they just aren’t as reliable.

FAQs

Does OxyShred Break Intermittent Fasting?

OxyShred contains 5 calories per serving, which can technically break your fast. We’d recommend avoiding taking it if you’re fasting. Obviously, this could be a problem if you like to train in a fasted state. This is just one more reason why fat burning powders with added calories are inferior to fat burners in capsules.

OxyShred shouldn’t make you constipated, unless you’re sensitive to some of its ingredients. In which case, we’d recommend talking to a qualified professional for advice.

Does OxyShred Cause Acne?

OxyShred has been known to cause acne, according to some reviews online. If you’re concerned, speak with your doctor before taking OxyShred.

Does OxyShred Make You Hungry?

No, OxyShred doesn’t make you hungry. It can even help reduce appetite a little. Not as much as some other fat burners though.

Can OxyShred be Used as a Pre Workout?

Yes, OxyShred is perfectly fine to take as a pre workout. In fact, this product is more of a pre workout than a fat burner. Just think about it – pre workouts give you more energy, they are generally served as a powder, and they boost mental function. OxyShred ticks all of these boxes. It’s not as good in the fat burning department, however.

Is OxyShred Vegan?

Yes, OxyShred is a vegan friendly fat burner. You can take it if you’re a vegan or vegetarian.

Is OxyShred Keto Friendly?
