Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein Review: How Good is It?

When it comes to getting results in the gym, protein supplements can seem like a dime a dozen. Try one and you’ve tried them all.

Apart from the taste and mixability, it can be hard to tell what protein powder is the most effective. You might even consider if it’s worth taking a protein supplement altogether, considering so many rich food sources of protein.

But if you want to ensure you’re maximizing the return on investment from your diet and your gym sessions, then a protein supplement is hands down the best supplement you can take. Not only is it among the most studied sports supplements in existence (second to creatine), it’s also shown to be extremely safe at accelerating muscle protein synthesis – leading to faster muscle recovery.

Below, our team will be doing the hard work for you, analyzing Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein to see how it compares to other popular protein powders in terms of effectiveness, taste, safety, and lots more!

About Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein

Here we have our Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein review. This brand new protein by Alpha Lion is the replacement for their old popular protein GOATein. Superhuman Protein improves upon its predecessor by using a cleaner form of whey protein, while also adding digestive enzymes and other ingredients to maximize absorption into your muscles.

As whey protein isolate, Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein is purified and formulated to contain a high amount of clean protein – 25g per scoop.

The benefits you’re promised from Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein include:

  • Supports Lean Muscle Growth†
  • Helps Increase Muscle Protein Synthesis†
  • Supports Muscle Recovery†
  • Maximum Protein Digestion with DigeZyme®†
  • Increased Protein Absorption with AstraGin®†
  • Utilizes Cross-flow Microfiltration Process†

Sounds good! But how will Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein work for you? Is it the cleanest and best-tasting protein you can get currently? We share a quick summary first, followed by our complete analysis!

[Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein Review Summary] While it’s among the best tasting proteins we’ve had, Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein isn’t the most effective protein for muscle growth overall. Most of the guys in our office use Performance Lab’s Protein. As far as we know, Performance Lab Protein is the cleanest plant-based source of protein currently available. It contains patented brown rice protein that’s been shown in studies to support muscle growth to the same extent as whey isolate, while also being easy on your digestion and side-effect free. Flavors and Mixability

In terms of flavor, SuperHuman Protein hardly has a rival on the market. While it’s still not as good as actual ice cream/frappe, it’s darn good for a whey protein isolate!

SuperHuman protein is offered in several flavors, including:

  • Hulk Milk – a vanilla flavored protein and our favorite of the bunch. Tastes like a soft and creamy ice cream.
  • Anabolic Pebbles – tastes like fruit cereals, really mouthwatering
  • Orange Gainsicle – creamy orange cake is the best way to describe it, not our favorite though.

In terms of mixability, all forms of protein powders mix really well. You shouldn’t be having any chunks left over, even if you’re just using a glass and a spoon.

How to Use Superhuman Protein

Superhuman Protein should be taken 1-3 times per day with water or milk depending on your lifestyle and protein requirements.

If you’re cutting, you’ll naturally be wanting to increase your protein to avoid muscle loss. But for weight gain, 1-2 scoops per day of Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein is plenty.

The Ingredients in Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein

SuperHuman Protein is definitely a step above your regular whey protein powder. To start, you get 25g of whey protein isolate per scoop. Most protein powders stop here, but Alpha Lion SuperHuman Protein also has 100mg of DigeZyme® enzymes, which help your body break down protein more efficiently. AstraGin® is also added to help with gut inflammation.

While whey protein isolate is a bit more denatured, it shouldn’t cause you the same issues that a whey protein concentrate would. As we mentioned, it’s still not as good as the Oryzatein® protein from Performance Lab.

Nutritional Info

Here’s what you get in each scoop of Alpha Lion SuperHuman Protein:

  • 28g of cross-flow micro-filtrated Provon whey protein isolate (yielding 25g of net protein)
  • 5g of carbs (3g of which is sugar)
  • 1g of fat
  • 130 calories

Note that the nutritional profile of Alpha Lion SuperHuman Protein varies slightly across its flavors. In some cases, the carb content can go up to as high as 8g per serving, which is the unfortunate but unavoidable downside of having such amazing flavors! As such, Alpha Lion SuperHuman Protein may not be ideal if you’re on a strict-cutting diet.

Customer Reviews

Most user reviews, including those that are written and those on YouTube, only have words of praise for this protein’s flavoring and mixability.

As we said, this is one of the best tasting protein powders you can currently take, but if your goal is pure muscle gains without too much focus on the flavoring, Superhuman Protein doesn’t quite make it among the best-reviewed protein powders overall right now.

Side Effects of Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein

All whey proteins can cause digestive upset, acne inflammation and other side effects to people who’re sensitive to dairy. But since Alpha Lion SuperHuman Protein is highly purified and contains additional digestive enzymes, it should be much gentler on your stomach.

Price and Where to Buy?

You can currently buy Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein on their official website for around $45 per tub, which yields you 28 servings. You can save some additional money if you grab their variety four-tub bundle which includes each of the four flavors – in which case it works out to $36 per tub.

This puts it right on par with some of the current top-rated protein powders for muscle growth.

Alpha Lion Superhuman Protein Review – Final Thoughts

While Alpha Lion’s Superhuman Protein is a great upgrade from standard whey protein with its digestive enzymes, it’s still not quite on the same level as plant-based protein powders which, thanks to the evolving nutrition technology, have become just as effective as whey proteins (and with fewer side effects).

So if your concern is bloating, definitely take a look at Performance Lab Protein which we can attest to. Alternatively, you can check the current 3 most effective protein supplements below.

With everything being said, if the flavor is your main criteria, then you can’t go wrong with Alpha Lion SuperHuman Protein.
