Nugenix Thermo Review: Does This Fat Burner Really Work?

Hi and welcome to our complete Nugenix Thermo review! Does this fat burner actually burn fat? Can it give your weight loss efforts a real push? To start with, here’s a quick review summary followed by a more detailed analysis from our team.

[NUGENIX THERMO SUMMARY] This fat burner has several things that we like about it, but also a few things that we dislike. For one, it’s got cayenne pepper and caffeine, both great thermogenics that can heat up your body and help you burn a few extra calories. But it’s missing a stronger appetite suppressant to curb food cravings, it’s underdosed in some key areas (e.g. green tea extract and l-carnitine) and has a few ingredients that haven’t been proven to aid weight loss (e.g. Coleus Forskholii). Coupled with only 1 daily serving and a price of $59.99+ per bottle, it doesn’t make it on our top 3 list.

What do we recommend?

Nugenix Thermo Review – The Basics

Nugenix Thermo is marketed as an extreme metabolic accelerator that cranks up your body’s metabolism so it’s easier to burn fat and stay lean.

It comes in bottles of 60 ct and has one serving of 2 capsules per day.

If taken consistently, Nugenix Thermo is said to help:

  • Speed up the metabolic rate
  • Improve fat lipolysis and breakdown
  • Increase the production of heat in the body (hence the term thermogenesis)

Sounds good – but how will Nugenix Thermo work for you?

Let’s take a look at the ingredients inside to find out.

Ingredients

Each serving of Nugenix Thermogenic supplies you with the following ingredients:

  • Vitamin B3 (Niacin) (16mg)
  • Vitamin C (17mg)
  • Chromium (200mcg)
  • Sicilian Red Orange Extract (400mg)
  • Caffeine Anhydrous (150mg)
  • Cayenne Extract (100mg)
  • Coleus Forskholii Extract (100mg)
  • Green Coffee Extract (75mg)
  • Whole Coffee Fruit Extract (70% caffeine) (50mg)
  • Ginger Root Extract (50mg)
  • Guarana Extract (50mg)
  • Green Tea Extract (80% catechins, 45% EGCG) (50mg)
  • L-Carnitine Carnipure (30mg)

Right off the bat, it’s refreshing to see a completely transparent ingredient profile. Since there are no proprietary blends in Nugenix Thermo, we can see the dose of each ingredient on the label and assess them for safety and effectiveness.

Speaking of ingredients, there’s a lot to like in Nugenix Thermo. It has caffeine, cayenne extract, and green coffee extract. Which are all among our favorite ingredients.

One issue we noticed, however, is that some ingredients in Nugenix Thermo are underdosed. This includes Green Tea Extract, Ginger, and L-Carnitine. All of these can aid fat loss, but only at the right doses (e.g. Green tea extrat’s optimal dosage for fat loss is around 300-400mg per day).

Another downside is that it has a few ineffective ingredients. See for yourself:

Vitamin B3

Niacin is not the best choice for a fat burner. Why? Because it’s been shown to aggravate insulin resistance, ironically. Higher levels of insulin resistance are associated with weight gain and obesity.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an antioxidant. At just 17 mg per serving, it’s more of a filler ingredient that doesn’t play any significant role in Nugenix Thermo.

Chromium

Now we’re getting somewhere! Chromium is an excellent ingredient for regulating blood sugars. When you eat a meal, especially if it’s high in carbohydrates, your blood sugar and insulin typically shoot up. You may have noticed this manifest as fatigue, sluggishness, and brain fog.

This is not normal. If you have these symptoms after eating a meal, it means your insulin resistant and/or have eaten too many refined carbohydrates. This makes your body store more fat than necessary. Luckily, chromium can help balance that out a bit, preventing unwanted weight gain in the process.

Sicilian Red Orange Extract

Sicilian Red Orange Extract is a good source of antioxidants. Essentially, these protect your cells in your body from damage. This makes it a great general health ingredient. But a fat burner? We’re afraid not!

Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine is a foundational ingredient in a fat burner. Unless you’re highly sensitive to it, you’ll want to include it in your daily stack to promote energy, focus and fat loss.

Caffeine helps burn fat by triggering stress hormones in your body, such as noradrenaline and adrenaline. These tell your metabolism to work harder, which consequently leads to greater calorie burn.

Cayenne Extract

Nugenix Thermo wouldn’t be a real thermo without an ingredient like cayenne pepper.

If you already didn’t know, cayenne pepper belongs to the group of ingredients known as ‘thermogenics’. These work on your metabolism – making it more efficient at burning body fat for energy.

The dosage could be a bit higher though!

Coleus Forskholii Extract

Coleus Forskholii is a plant that grows in India. It’s been traditionally used to treat various health conditions, but it’s most popular use in the West is as a fat burner. But does it really work?

According to the current science, no it doesn’t! At least not to any significant extent.

Coleus Forskholii has a compound called Forskolin in it. This compound is suggested to activate your body’s cAMP pathways, which are involved in fat burning and weight loss. The issue is, Forskolin’s effects on cAMP are too weak to have any notable impact.

Green Coffee Extract

Don’t be fooled, Green Coffee Extract isn’t merely yet another caffeine-laden ingredient. In fact, green coffee bean in its raw unroasted state has very low amounts of caffeine. Instead, it’s rich in another compound – chlorogenic acid.

Chlorogenic Acid has been shown to alter carb absorption in the gut. Essentially, it helps prevent you from gaining weight from pasta, breat and other carb-rich foods.

Just don’t think you can now start eating pizza every day! Green Coffee extract can help, but it’s not that strong on its own.

Whole Coffee Fruit Extract

Whole coffee fruit extract is another source of caffeine in Nugenix Thermo. At this point, we don’t think it’s necessary to add any more caffeine to the product. Too much of the drug can just increase the risk of side effects.

Ginger Root Extract

Ginger is best known for improving digestive health. However, it’s severely underdosed in Nugenix Thermo at just 50mg per serving. This means it won’t have much of an impact on your digestion, let alone weight loss.

Guarana Extract

Guarana is surprising to see here. There’s already heaps of caffeine in Nugenix Thermo, and Guarana is more caffeine dense than roasted coffee beans themselves. This is an unecessary ingredient in our opinion – it can only make you jittery and nauseaus.

Green Tea Extract

Yet another great ingredient that’s underdosed in Nugenix Thermo. This is disappointing as green tea extract really is one of the best natural thermogenics. Not to mention it’s a rich source of catechins which trigger fat burning on a cellular level.

L-Carnitine Carnipure

Carnitine is probably the most hyped ingredient for weight loss. It’s been used in fat burning shakes, pills and drinks ever since early 200s. However, research still isn’t conclusive on whether it can really help you burn fat to any significant extent.

Even if it could, there’s just 50mg of carnitine in Nugenix Thermo. This ingredient should be taken in grams if it is to have any serious effect.

Anything Missing?

We were surprised to see Nugenix Thermo without an appetite suppressant. Sure, caffeine can help curb your cravings a bit, but that won’t be enough for seeing your dieting goals through.

You’ll need something more potent, but still completely natural. Say hi to Glucomannan!

Glucomannan is also known as Konjac Root, which is a natural fiber that swells in your stomach upon ingestion. When you combine it water, it can swell significantly, to the point of making you feel physically full. The bast part is, Glucomannan digests slowly and so its effects will last you several hours at least.

Nugenix Thermo Dosage

Nugenix Thermo dosage is 2 capsules once per day, in the morning. According to the manufacturers, it doesn’t matter if you take it with or without food.

Just make sure not to take Nugenix Thermo in the evening as it has stimulants that can cause insomnia.

Some people wonder if you can combine Nugenix Thermo and Total T together. If you already didn’t know, Nugenix Total T is a testosterone booster that claims to raise your natural anabolic hormones and help you build more lean muscle. Sounds good, but should you combine it with Nugenix Thermo?

We don’t recommend it, Nugenix Total T has a proprietary blend which prevents us from assessing if it’s safe and effective. If you want to combine Nugenix Thermo with a test booster, make sure it’s a transparent product with proven ingredients in clinically researched doses.

Side Effects

Is Nugenix Thermo safe? It should be safe for most people. Unless you have any kind of medical condition, in which case you should talk to your MD before taking any supplement.

As of Nugenix Thermo, it’s got well researched ingredients, and although some of them don’t work, it shouldn’t cause any issues. The doses are also light for the most part – some ingredients are even underdosed.

THAT said, there’s one exception and that’s Nugenix Thermo’s high caffeine content. Combining it with other sources of caffeine (e.g. coffee, energy drinks) throughout the day can raise the risk of heart palpitations, insomnia, jitters and other side effects.

Price and Value for Money?

Nugenix Thermo’s price varies depending on where you buy it. It’s available on GNC, Amazon and other 3rd party online retailers, as well as some physical stores in the USA such as Walgreens and Walmart. You can also buy Nugenix Thermo in the UK and Canada.

Generally speaking, Nugenix Thermo costs around $60 per bottle of 60 capsules. Which is a bit expensive considering that it only lasts you 30 days.

Although Nugenix has some great ingredients, it costs as much as some of the best fat burners on the market and if we’re being honest, it’s not on the same level in terms of effects.

As a side note, some people asked us if Nugenix Thermo offers any free samples. Last time we checked, the answer was no!

Nugenix Thermo Reviews: What do Others Say?

Looking through Google’s search results, there aren’t many customer reviews on Nugenix Thermo at this moment in time. You might see an occasional Reddit testimonial but that’s about it. We weren’t able to find many before and after pictures and video testimonials for Nugenix Thermo.

It’s also worth asking how legit are these testimonials in the first place? We don’t like to rely on these reviews as you can never tell if they’re moderated to make the product appear worse or better than it really is.

The best way to see if the product will work for you is by checking the ingredients. If they are supported by scientific research, and if they come at the right doses, then it’s very likely that the fat burner will actually help you burn fat.

Conclusion to Nugenix Thermo Review

So that concludes our Nugenix Thermo review. We think this fat burner has many things to like, such as cayenne pepper for thermogenesis or caffeine for energy. It also has a few other great ingredients, but some of them are underdosed.

Another issue is that Nugenix Thermo doesn’t really affect appetite or food cravings. This is big; losing weight is as much mental game as it’s physical. If you can’t curb your cravings, it will be hard to reach your goals. A good appetite suppressant such as Glucomannan can make all the difference here.

You also get only 1 serving per day. This serving schedule is skewed. The best supplements use 3-4 daily servings to keep your body in a constant fat burning mode.

For a fat burner that costs $60 per bottle, we expected a bit more!

Pros

  • Caffeine can boost energy and focus
  • Cayenne pepper is excellent for thermogenesis
  • Green coffee bean can reduce carb absorption
  • Red orange extract is a good source of antioxidants

Cons

  • Missing a better appetite suppressant
  • Green Tea, Ginger and several other ingredients underdosed
  • Niacin can worsen insulin resistance, making it harder to lose weight (ironically)
  • Coleus Forskholii isn’t proven to burn fat
  • Only one daily serving, effects will wear off between doses

What’s Better?

We do independent analysis on over 40 fat burners every year, searching for the most effective, science-backed formula on the market.

Some of our criteria include:

  • Must support fat burning naturally and safely
