Here’s our Black Ox Test Booster Review. Today we’ll see if Black Ox testosterone booster can help you with muscle building, libido, and mental focus among other claimed benefits. Our team will be kicking this off with a brief review summary.
[BLACK OX TEST BOOSTER AT A GLANCE]
- The ingredients inside Black Ox don’t reflect its big claims. While Black Ox claims to be a natural steroid alternative, its formula doesn’t have anything that would boost your testosterone or other anabolic hormones. It does work for libido and energy-boosting though, so if that’s your main concern, do look into this product.
- As far as testosterone boosting is concerned, Black Ox lacks core nutrients such as vitamin D3 and zinc, along with using a few ingredients that, in higher doses, may mess up your hormonal balance (DIM, Fenugreek, DHEA). It also costs $56 for a month’s supply, which puts it right on par with more effective products in terms of price.

Black Ox Test Booster Review – The Basics
Here’s our overview of Black Ox test booster. And all the key facts you should know about it.
For starters, Black Ox is a product developed by Tony Huge. He’s a professional bodybuilder who’s been outspoken in his use of anabolic steroids.
According to Tony, for years he complained that T-boosters are total junk and ineffective. He now claims to have developed the first and most effective natural formula to stimulate your body to make more of its own T.
Coming in a bottle of 240 capsules, it’s meant for pro bodybuilders and regular gym Joes alike. It’s not aggressive in the sense that it causes dependency or makes your natural T production lower, as steroids do. Instead, it’s intended to provide natural raw materials for your body to kick its own T production into higher gear.
Along with that, Tony says Black Ox can be used as a natural PCT supplement to lower your estrogen levels. As you know, raising testosterone will also raise estrogen – which is a common problem that Pro bodybuilders face.
So, how well does Black Ox work? Is it as good as it’s marketed to be? And more importantly, is this testosterone booster safe and healthy to take long-term? These are just some of the questions that will be answered in the sections that follow…
Active ingredients in Black Ox Test Booster include:
- Akarkara Root Extract (1,500mg)
- Fenugreek Extract (1,000mg)
- Fadogia Agrestis Powder (1,000mg)
- Bulbine Natalensis Powder (500mg)
- LongJack Extract (300mg)
- Mucuna Pruriens (200mg)
- Indole-3-Carbinol (160mg)
- DHEA (100mg)
- DIM (100mg)
- Luteolin (50mg)
- Black Pepper Extract (10mg)
Under “other ingredients,” you’ll notice it contains the controversial Titanium Dioxide.
Some research indicates that titanium dioxide creates chronic, low-grade inflammation in the body. And who wants more inflammation nowadays? If you ask me, I’m against titanium dioxide, especially since you can easily replace it with safer natural alternatives. This, of course, is more expensive to make. Black Ox’s manufacturers have gone the cheaper route.
Anyways, back to the active ingredients. We see a few ingredients that we like in there. For example, luteolin is great for reducing estrogen, and so is Indole-3-Carbinol. Fenugreek is good for this purpose too, but it comes with a cost which you’ll see below.
One good thing about Enhanced Athlete Black Ox is that it’s free of proprietary blends. In case you’re unaware, these are mixtures of ingredients shown as a single dose on a label. This prevents you from seeing their individual doses. And consequently, knowing if it works or not.
However, some ingredients in Black Ox haven’t been proven by research to work.
Here’s a closer look:
Akarkara Root Extract
Akarkara is an Ayurvedic aphrodisiac herb. It’s traditionally been used for thousands of years in India to treat fertility and libido issues.
The studies on it are thin, but the preliminary research shows it may boost libido and protect brain function. It might have a slight effect on testosterone, too. See what Examine.com says about this ingredient: https://examine.com/supplements/anacyclus-pyrethrum/
Fenugreek is a common ingredient in testosterone boosters. But don’t be fooled, just because it’s common doesn’t mean it should be there.
Fenugreek works by preventing testosterone from turning into other hormones in your body; primarily DHT and estrogen. While we certainly want less estrogen to avoid man boobs and fat gain. We definitely don’t want to mess with DHT levels, which is another important anabolic hormone.
Lowering DHT in order to make more T can only lead to hormonal imbalance!
Fadogia Agrestis Powder
Fadogia is a plant native to Nigeria. Its stem has been traditionally used to treat ED. The research on animals shows that Fadogia Agrestis can indeed help with erectile issues, as well as potentially raise the hormone testosterone.
This definitely looks promising! Despite this, we can’t recommend it as one of the best ingredients since there are no human studies to confirm these findings.
As WebMD states:
“No one knows if Fadogia agrestis has these effects in people. Overall, there isn’t enough information to know how Fadogia agrestis might work for any medical condition.”
Bulbine Natalensis Powder
Another African plant, Bulbine Natalensis is commonly used to help with sexual desire and function.
A few rat studies showed a potent increase in testosterone levels. The studies also showed organ damage (liver and kidneys) similar to an aggressive steroid cycle.
Needless to say, we’ll need to see some human studies on the safety of Bulbine Natalensis before recommending it to anyone!
LongJack is an excellent herbal libido booster. It’s commonly used for improving erections and other aspects of sexual function, and works wonders for some men.
Others, on the other hand, don’t report any differences after taking the herb! It seems to depend on your unique genetic make up and physiology. Still, it’s been studied and shown as an extremely safe ingredient, so it’s definitely not a bad inclusion in Black Ox.
Mucuna is the richest natural source of Levodopa (L-DOPA). L-Dopa is your brain’s direct precursor to dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that keeps you motivated and focused. It also governs many vital physical functions, including movement and speech!
Mucuna is great for testosterone too. It’s been shown in some studies to stimulate the areas of the brain which have an influence on your testicular function, leading to increased anabolic hormone levels.
Indole-3-Carbinol might sound like some weird synthetic man-made chemical. But it’s really just a compound from broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables. Okay, so what does it do?
Upon ingestion, I3C breaks down in your body in several other compounds, amongst them DIM, which is known for regulating estrogen levels. This is important because when you’re raising your testosterone levels, your estrogen goes up too. High estrogen can lead to man boobs, fat gain, muscle loss, and mood swings.
By lowering estrogen I3C helps keep your hormones in a more youthful range.
DHEA is hormone that can turn into estrogen and/or testosterone, depending on what your body needs.
We don’t rate it as one of the best natural T-boosting ingredients. We prefer natural nutrients that stimulate your body to make more of its own T, instead of trying to raise it directly through other hormones such as DHEA.
We already get enough DIM from Indole-3-Carbinol in Black Ox. So it’s kind of odd to see more of it included here!
In fact, too much DIM (over 100mg per day) can ironically raise your estrogen levels. Creating more problems along the way!
Luteolin is here to save the day! If DIM causes any excess estrogen build-up, luteolin can help offset that. This powerful botanical antioxidant is known for acting on your body’s aromatase enzyme, which turns your testosterone into estrogen.
By blocking aromatase, luteolin allows you to have a healthier level of anabolic hormones in your body.
Black Pepper Extract
Black Pepper Extract is excellent choice. Not because it can boost your testosterone or lower estrogen (it can’t). But because it can potentiate other ingredients in Black Ox, enhancing their bioavailability and efficiency.
The only issue here is that some ingredients (such as DIM) shouldn’t be potentiated. Because the side effects could get worse.
While Black Ox has plenty of ingredients. Not all of them are proven to boost testosterone. Some of them are a bit risky too.
To make Black Ox more effective and safer, we’d replace those ingredients with natural, well-researched T-boosters that are safe and healthy to take long-term:
- Vitamin D3 – essential raw testosterone material. A vitamin that increases your T levels directly.
- Magnesium – unbinds testosterone from the shackles of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), resulting in increased ‘free testosterone’ levels in your blood.
- Zinc – prevents stress and hard physical exertion from diminishing your testosterone production.
- Boron – trace element that has been shown to significantly boost test levels in as little as 1 week.
Along with these fundamentals, we’d also add Ashwagandha. Which is a natural Ayurvedic herb that stimulates the production of testosterone, along with reducing cortisol. This stress hormone induces muscle wastage and messes with your anabolic hormones.
How to Use Black Ox (Dosage Instructions)
The Black Ox serving size is 8 capsules per day! A huge number for sure, but how are you meant to take it? Well, the label doesn’t say whether you should take it all at once or spread apart – it just says to take “8 capsules daily”.
We recommend spreading them apart for more consistent testosterone-boosting effects throughout the day. 2 capsules, 4 times per day would be ideal. But if you’re too busy, you could also try 4 capsules twice per day.
Just remember, the best testosterone boosters use 3-4 daily servings for a reason! To maintain consistent effects all day and night.
Black Ox has a few ‘iffy’ ingredients that could cause side effects, including Fenugreek and DIM. As we said, Fenugreek can mess with your hormonal balance by reducing DHT in order to make more T.
DIM, on the other hand, can increase estrogen levels when taken in amounts that are higher than 100mg per day.
The rest of the Black Ox formula looks very safe. It shouldn’t cause you any side effects, even mild ones.
Price and Value for Money?
You can buy Black Ox test booster in Australia, UK, and pretty much anywhere in the world. Looking at Black Ox test booster reviews on Reddit and other sites, you’ll notice both positive and negative reviews. As to be expected.
In terms of price, Black Ox test booster costs $55.99 for a month’s supply. This puts it in a similar price bracket as the current world’s top-rated testosterone boosters. But is it as good as them? We’ll let you decide that one for yourself!

Conclusion to Black Ox Test Booster Review
So that concludes our Black Ox Test Booster review!
This product contains a few great libido boosters, such as LongJack. It also contains Akarkara and a few other Ayurvedic herbs that have some animal evidence showing they can boost sexual function.
However, as far as testosterone goes, these ingredients haven’t been tested in human studies at all. Also, it’s missing some fundamental ingredients that would make it more likely to deliver on its claims.
- Still, even though Black Ox costs a lot, it’s not a terrible product by any means. It may not deliver in the ‘test boosting’ department, but it still has great herbal aphrodisiacs that could affect your energy levels. If that’s what you’re after, get your hands on a supply of this natural product!
