Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep At a Glance

Pros

  • A good number of sleep aids
  • Helps reduce cortisol
  • Ashwagandha helps to balance hormones, which can indirectly contribute to weight loss

Cons

  • Over 150mg of zinc per serving – more than 4 times the upper safe limit
  • Contains a proprietary blend
  • Doesn’t have anything that directly promotes weight loss
  • Missing core ingredients like green tea extract, cayenne pepper extract, glucomannan, and chromium

SUMMARY: Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep is a natural product with some excellent sedatives that will improve your sleep. However, SuperHuman Sleep has two issues that need to be addressed. One, it uses over 150mg of zinc per serving. Anything more than 30-40mg is above the safe upper limit and can result in extreme stomach cramps and nausea. The other issue is, this supplement doesn’t have any proven weight loss or fat-burning ingredients in its formula. If it used a lighter zinc dose, it would at least be a good sleep aid. But, due to its downsides, we don’t rate Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep as one of the safest or most effective fat burners on the market right now.

About Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep

Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep is a supplement that aims to help improve your sleep, muscle gains, and fat loss. It comes as a powder with different flavors, including the cleverly nicknamed “Slaughtermelon” and “Tropical Terminator”.

We’ve found the taste to be excellent, and the powder easy to mix. Chugging one scoop of Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep is said to help you:

  • Support fat loss & muscle growth
  • Promote faster recovery after hard workouts
  • Support REM Sleep for anabolic hormones
  • Replenish electrolytes that regulate energy and nerve function
  • “Skyrocket” the speed of your physique transformation

Sounds good, these are typical benefits you’d expect from a supplement of this kind. Let’s go ahead and see if the formula lives up to the claims.

How to Use Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep

Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep dosage is 1 scoop before going to sleep. With such a heavy zinc dose that’s in SuperHuman Sleep, it’s a good idea to take it with a big meal to avoid severe side effects.

There are a lot of ingredients in here, each intended for different purpose. We see many sleep aids and anti-stress herbs, but we don’t see too many fat burning ingredients in SuperHuman Sleep’s formula. There’s no green tea, cayenne pepper, glucomannan, chromium, or any of the commonly used ingredients in the best fat burner supplements. So, how will this one work for you? We’ll find out shortly!

As for the ingredient doses, many of them are well-served, with a few exceptions which we’ll touch upon below. There is one propreitary blend which contains Panax Notoginseng and Astragalus which only shows you the combined amount of the two ingredients – not their individual doses. This can be a problem when assessing the ingredient dosage for safety and effectiveness.

Let’s go on and take a closer look at the key ingredients in SuperHuman Sleep.

Glycine

Glycine is an amino acid found in certain foods. It helps your body produce antioxidants such as glutathione, along with helping with the making of GABA in the brain, which influences relaxation. A good choice for a sleep supplement, all in all!

Tryptophan

Tryptophan is another sleep aid. A natural amino acid, Tryptophan is involved in the making of serotonin, which your body then converts to melatonin – the main sleep hormone. Turkey is one of the foods rich in tryptophan, and it’s part of the reason for sleepiness after Thanksgiving meals.

Magnesium

Magnesium is an essential trace mineral. It’s involved in countless biological processes of your body, including sleep regulation and hormone production. However, it doesn’t have much of an effect on fat burning. [2]

Zinc

Zinc is an excellent choice for a sleep supplement because it supports the production of neurotransmitters involved in the sleep-wake cycle. It also lowers stress hormones such as cortisol which can be detrimental to sleep.

However, there’s over 150mg of zinc per serving of SuperHuman Sleep. To say this is too much would be an understatement. This much zinc is borderline dangerous for health. To put it into perspective, 40mg of zinc per day is considered by The National Institutes of Health a tolerable upper limit, with many people experiencing nausea and copper malabsorption even at this dosage! [1] We don’t usually have to give warnings in big bolded letters, but this is one of the rare occasions where we’ll need to do just that…

WARNING: Speak with your doctor before taking this product. AlphaLion SuperHuman contains over 150mg of zinc per serving, which is a dangerous amount, and should never be taken long-term. Remember that our posts are of informational purpose only; make sure to talk to a qualified physician before taking this much zinc.

Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is an excellent choice. It helps to improve hormones involved in muscle building and stress control, assisting you in feeling and looking great. However, Ashwagandha isn’t one of the best fat burning ingredients around. In fact, we’re yet to find an ingredient in Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep that helps with weight loss directly; so far, we’ve only seen sleep aids.

Astragalus

Astragalus is a traditional Chinese herb that was used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. It has been used for a variety of things, including reducing symptoms of viral infections, treating diabetes and high blood pressure, strengthening the immune system, and improving circulation. It is said that it can be used to treat inflammation related to kidney health but more research is needed to confirm this. [3]

Panax Notoginseng

Panax notoginseng, also known as Sanchi, is an herbal medicine that has a wide range of benefits. It is mainly used in traditional Chinese and Korean folk medicine. One of its main benefits is that it helps alleviate symptoms of insomnia and anxiety. A good choice for wellness in general.

Chamomile

Chamomile is best known for helping with sleep. Tea is often made from this plant to help induce feelings of calm and relaxation. [4] The issue is, we already have a lot of sedatives in Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep. We’d rather like to see something that’s proven to burn fat or suppress appetite. This many sleep aids is unnecessary.

Glutamine

Glutamine is an ingredient commonly found in bodybuilding supplements, due to its ability to improve muscle strength and recovery. Hard training and stress deplete glutamine muscle stores, which is why supplementation can be beneficial for some people. But it’s yet another ingredient in Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep with no weight loss benefits.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 is one of the 8 essential B vitamins. It plays a part in numerous enzymatic reactions and is involved in neurological health. It may help boost mental clarity and energy levels if you’re deficient in it. That said, most people do get enough through their diet as B6 is found in plenty of fresh veggies and animal products.

Melatonin

Melatonin is the chief sleep hormone, and an antioxidant. Supplementation of melatonin is a great way to get to sleep quickly, especially if you want to combat things like jet lag.

L-Theanine

L-Theanine is a calming amino acid from green tea. It puts your brain in an alpha wave state, which reduces excessive thoughts and helps with mental recovery. [5]

Anything Missing?

Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep doesn’t have a single ingredient in it that will directly help you lose weight. All it has are sleep aids, anti-stress herbs, and general health ingredients. Sure, you could say Ashwagandha is beneficial for weight loss, and it is, but only because it helps reduce cortisol which is a hormone that indirectly makes you gain more weight if it’s chronically elevated.

Apart from Ashwagandha, though, SuperHuman Sleep is missing just about every single best ingredient for burning fat. There’s no:

  • Glucomannan – for appetite suppression
  • Green Tea Extract – for a metabolic boost
  • Cayenne Pepper Extract – for thermogenesis
  • Chromium – for blood sugar regulation

Put simply, Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep is a great sleep aid, but it has nothing in it that would indicate it’s a weight loss supplement.

Customer Reviews

At the moment, there aren’t too many Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep reviews or testimonials online. There are 2 reasons for that:

  1. The supplement is relatively new so it will take some time before reviews start to pop up
  2. It’s only sold on the official SuperHuman website, and it’s not available on Amazon, making it hard to find impartial reviews online

Side Effects

Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep has a lot of sedatives in it, so naturally, it will cause the side effect of drowsiness and sluggishness. However, this is to be expected!

As for other side effects, we haven’t yet seen any reports of them online. Alpha Lion SuperHuman mostly uses natural and well-studied ingredients, which aren’t known to cause severe negative reactions in the people. The only exception is zinc, which, at over 4x the amount of the tolerable upper limit, can easily cause:

  • Severe stomach cramps
  • Nausea
  • Copper deficiency (in case of long-term supplementation)

Price, Quality, and Value for Money

A month’s worth of Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep will cost you $44.99. If we ignore the insanely high zinc dosage for a moment, since it contains many high-quality sleep aids, Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep could be a good value for money for those whose sole focus is on getting a better sleep.

However, Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep is a terrible value for money as a fat burner. Because, it doesn’t contain anything that burns fat!

Conclusion to Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep Analysis

That ends our Alpha Lion SuperHuman Sleep review. Unfortunately, despite using some great sleep aids, we can’t recommend this ingredient to anyone, due to an extremely high zinc dosage. You first need to check with your doctor if you plan on using this supplement. At 150mg +per serving, this zinc dosage can cause severe health issues.

We liked most Alpha Lion supplements we’ve reviewed in the past, however, this is not one of them. Even if we ignore the extremely high and unsafe zinc dose, there are no weight loss ingredients in this supplement whatsoever. No fat burners, no appetite suppressants, nothing that would help you drop pounds on the scale! As a result, we’d recommend doing more research to find a safer and more effective alternative for burning fat.
