Our Review of Nugenix Maxx: Is it Worth Your Time & Money?

Looking for a quality testosterone booster? Here is our review of Nugenix Maxx! This supplement is one of the many versions of Nugenix available online, many of which we’ve already reviewed. Nugenix Maxx claims to help you with libido, energy, and testosterone unlike any other product on the market right now – offering complete men’s health support.

The question is, does Nugenix Maxx really work as advertised, and is it worth the investment? Our team analyzes its ingredients, benefits, side effects, and reviews among others to give you a complete picture of the supplement in this Nugenix Maxx review.

Nugenix Maxx Simplified

The Good

  • Contains several effective libido and testosterone enhancers
  • Ashwagandha helps to lower stress hormones
  • Maca is excellent for performance & sex drive
  • Great serving of 4 capsules per day

The Bad

  • Outrageously overpriced – $169.99 for only 30 servings
  • Some ineffective ingredients – namely, Tribulus, white button mushroom, and Shilajit
  • Some important ingredients are underdosed – including vitamin D
  • Formula is lacking some core ingredients such as magnesium

Summary: Nugenix Maxx is not worth the money – we’ll say it right off the bat. If this supplement was priced at $50 per bottle, or even $60 or $70, we would be having a completely different discussion. But the fact that the price tag is so laughably high, makes Nugenix Maxx look like a complete rip-off! You can easily find equally effective, and even more effective testosterone and libido-boosting supplements for a fraction of the price of Nugenix Maxx. Many customer reviews seem to agree – taking their frustration online with the lack of results for what they paid. Despite having an overall solid formula, Nugenix Maxx still has some major problems, namely underdosed ingredients and using some ineffective ingredients, which makes the price look even more insane. We definitely recommend doing more research before committing to this one. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

About Nugenix Maxx

Nugenix Maxx is a men’s health supplement available on GNC, Amazon, and a few other big websites. It is said to be “the boldest” and “most powerful” blend of man-boosting ingredients ever found within a single formula. The marketing material goes on to say that Nugenix Max is the only premium testosterone booster in its category that stands alone “at the pinnacle” of male health and performance.

The bold claims continue by saying Nugenix Maxx is packed with 6 branded, scientifically-backed ingredients shown to deliver significant results. This includes 4 most effective vitality ingredients in clinically studied amounts to maximize your free T levels, enhance muscle gains, and speed up strength recovery after your training sessions. You’re also promised:

  • Increased energy and libido
  • More balanced stress levels
  • Complete male health support

On the whole then, Nugenix Maxx claims to be the absolute best, most complete test-booster/men’s health enhancer on the market today.

This is quite a bold claim, considering there are so many great T-boosters (and not-so-great ones) available on sale right now. Can Nugenix Maxx really overthrow the current market leaders, or are the claims overexaggerated as usual with testosterone boosters?

We’ll find out soon when we check the ingredients.

The expectations were set high. Nugenix Maxx better not disappoint us!

How to Use Nugenix Maxx

Nugenix Maxx’s dosage directions are to take 4 capsules in the morning. You can take it with or without food.

Nugenix Maxx Ingredients

Looking at the ingredient label, Nugenix Maxx definitely has some good things going for it.

One, it doesn’t have a proprietary blend, which means you can see every ingredient dose on the label. This is crucial – it allows us to check if the doses are within safe and optimal ranges. So many supplements use proprietary blends to save on manufacturing costs which ultimately costs you, the customer. Props to Nugenix Maxx for having a clear label!

In terms of ingredients themselves, Nugenix Maxx contains a few of our favorite T-boosting and libido-boosting ingredients. We have Zinc, Fenugreek, Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, Panax Ginseng, and Maca. You should notice a lift in your sex drive, energy levels, and motivation from this combination of ingredients. Ashwagandha, in particular, is effective at lowering stress hormones while enhancing your virility and strength.

Now, is Nugenix Maxx the best testosterone formula we’ve seen? Definitely not!

Although it looks better than many men’s health supplements, Nugenix Maxx also has some serious downsides that make it fall behind some of the leading testosterone boosters on the market.

We will go more into detail about the downsides below, but the main problems of Nugenix Maxx are that it uses some completely unproven and ineffective ingredients such as Tribulus, Shijalit, and White Button Mushroom, along with having some key ingredients underdosed – including vitamin D.

See for yourself:

Vitamin D (800IU)

Vitamin D is also known as the “sunshine hormone”, thanks to its effects on male testosterone, human growth hormone, and other anabolic chemical messengers in your body. A deficiency has been linked with diminished T levels. By contrast, supplementation of 3,332IU of vitamin D daily for a year has been shown to result in significant increases in the male hormone. Alongside this, vitamin D also affects our mood, libido, and other aspects of male health. This is why it is commonly considered to be one of the best natural men’s enhancement ingredients. It is a shame Nugenix Maxx contains only 800IU of this crucial ingredient.

Zinc (15mg)

Zinc is an excellent choice in Nugenix Maxx. It has been shown, among many benefits, to act as an aphrodisiac – enhancing your libido and performance in the bedroom. Zinc also affects testosterone directly; it offsets the decline in the anabolic hormone caused by hard training or chronic stress. The dosage of 15mg in Nugenix Maxx is just about perfect; it is not too low to not offer the full benefit, but also not too high to cause stomach upset or other side effects.

Fenugreek Extract (600mg)

Fenugreek is another great choice. It is an herb with anti-estrogenic, anti-DHT properties. Estrogen is the key female hormone. When elevated in men, it leads to gynecomastia, belly weight gain, and prostate issues, to name a few. DHT, on the other hand, is actually an important male hormone that is 4-times more potent than testosterone. However, as you get older, your testosterone starts converting to DHT, which can lead to hair loss and other problems. Fenugreek helps to keep the balance by preventing this conversion from “going out of hand”. The dosage of 600mg is good, but it could be lower to not diminish DHT too much. Remember, we still need DHT, we don’t want to completely get rid of it; that would bring its own set of problems.

Ashwagandha Extract (600mg)

Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb. That means, it literally helps your body “adapt” to its environment. The most famous benefit of Ashwagandha is a reduction in cortisol. In some cases, it has been shown to lower the stress hormone by up to 25%. Although it may not elevate your testosterone levels per se, Ashwagandha can indirectly promote healthy hormonal balance via its effects on cortisol. The 600mg that is in Nugenix Maxx is an effective and safe dose, too.

Shilajit Extract (500mg)

Shilajit is a sticky substance found on rocks in the Himalayas. It develops over the hundreds of years from decomposing plants. Shilajit has a lot of different minerals in it, so the claim is that it could act as an aphrodisiac and testosterone booster. However, the bioavailability and effectiveness of the minerals from Shilajit aren’t shown to be nearly as good as those from shellfish, oysters, or animal food sources. There is one study showing a rise in testosterone levels, but the study design was poor and the results weren’t replicated in other robust human trials. To us, it looks like the 500mg of Shilajit that is in Nugenix Maxx is a massive waste of capsule space. Far better ingredients could be used in its stead – for example, magnesium chelate.

Tribulus alatus Extract (250mg)

Tribulus Alatus is a plant extract that is touted to have an effect on libido or testosterone. However, there is no evidence to support this claim. Due to the lack of research, Tribulus Alatus is not a common form of Tribulus that is used in supplements. The more common and more studied form is Tribulus Terrestris, which has some libido-enhancing effects.

Eurycoma longifolia Extract (150mg)

Also known as LongJack, Eurycoma longifolia is one of the best natural sex drive boosters. It’s worth noting that it doesn’t actually boost testosterone. A lot of people confuse the two.

Rhodiola Extract (150mg)

Rhodiola Rosea is an herb that belongs to the Crassulaceae family and has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. It originated in Russia and Siberia and now grows wild across Europe, Canada, and America.

It can be found in different forms such as tablets, capsules, tinctures, extracts, teas, wines, dried roots or pieces of bark; however it grows best when it is harvested from its roots.

Rhodiola Rosea has been scientifically proven to help with issues such as anxiety disorders where it can reduce stress levels by increasing serotonin levels or helping to manage high cortisol.

Maca Extract (150mg)

Maca root is often used to improve memory, boost energy, and improve sexual health.

Maca root is especially popular with athletes, as it boosts energy and improves stamina. Maca is also beneficial for people who are trying to lose weight. It can help to curb appetite and increase feelings of satiety – so it’s a great ally for healthy weight loss efforts.

Panax ginseng Extract (140mg)

Panax Ginseng, often called just “ginseng,” is a plant that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. It is considered a tonic or herbal supplement and is often taken to promote wellness.

One of the most studied benefits of taking Panax Ginseng regularly is a reduced risk of cancer. Ginseng may be able to help with stomach disorders, high cholesterol, asthma, and it may also be good for people with diabetes or who are recovering from surgery.

White Button Mushroom Extract (10mg)

White button mushrooms are an edible mushroom that are most commonly found in the grocery store. They are the most common type of mushroom that is found in North America. It has some anti-inflammatory properties, but nothing too significant. It has no specific effects on testosterone or male health in general.

Black Pepper Extract (5mg)

Black Pepper Extract is used in Nugenix Maxx to help with the absorption of other ingredients in the formula.

Anything Missing?

Not a whole lot is missing from Nugenix, actually. The only 2 ingredients we would add are magnesium and oyster extract, as these two have been shown to improve free and total testosterone levels quite substantially. We would remove the white button mushroom, Shilajit, and Tribulus alatus to make space for the two aforementioned ingredients.

That said, the main big issue with Nugenix Maxx is that some of its key ingredients are underdosed – mainly, vitamin D. Just by fixing this, Nugenix Maxx would be far more effective. As for right now, we think there are better testosterone and libido formulas available on the market.

Customer Reviews

There are a lot of positive Nugenix Maxx reviews online, including on GNC and Amazon. Many customers are happy with the safety of this product. A lot of them also reported an increase in libido and energy levels. Some, however, mentioned a lack of results and being unhappy with Nugenix Maxx. The main complaint regarding Nugenix Maxx is its outrageously high price tag. We’ve seen a lot of customers who believe the benefits don’t justify the amount that is being charged.

It is always best to do your own research on the ingredients in any supplement before coming to a conclusion based on other people’s personal “testimonials.” The reason is that it is hard to tell which reviews are legitimate and which are paid ads. On the other hand, when you look at the evidence behind the formula of any particular supplement, you will get a pretty good idea about how it will work for you.

Side Effects

Nugenix Maxx is stimulant-free and uses mostly well-researched ingredients, so the risk of side effects is minimal. The doses are also light for the most part (for better or for worse), so there shouldn’t be any issues.

Having said that, you should talk to a doctor if you’re taking this supplement for the first time, especially if you have a condition.

Price and Value for Money?

Nugenix Maxx costs $169.99 for a bottle of 120 capsules. Since the serving size is 4 capsules per day, a bottle will only last you a month. This is one of the most expensive testosterone boosters we’ve seen, and we’ve reviewed and tested hundreds by this point!

The price goes down 10% if you subscribe to recurring delivery and credit card charges. But even then, the price is, in our opinion, too high for what the supplement offers. There are more effective and better men’s health supplements on the market for a fraction of the price of Nugenix Maxx.

Conclusion to Nugenix Maxx Review

That concludes our Nugenix Maxx review and analysis.

So, should you consider Nugenix Maxx? Is it worth the price tag of $169.99 for just 30 servings?

For us, the answer is a resounding ‘no’. While Nugenix Maxx does have some great ingredients for your libido, energy levels, and testosterone support, you can easily find just as effective formulas on offer for far less money.

There is simply no justification for Nugenix Maxx to charge this much for one bottle. It is a rip-off!

Even if Nugenix Maxx was perfect (which it is not – far from it), we would still think it is ridiculously overpriced. There is no reason for any supplement manufacturer to charge this much for any kind of formula.

The fact that Nugenix Maxx has some major downsides, including some completely unproven and ineffective ingredients, along with having some important ingredients underdosed, makes its price seem even more laughable.
