Ingredients

National Bodybuilding Co. Full Prep Vegan Protein Ingredients

Okay, so what is exactly inside of Full Prep Vegan Protein? The two main ingredients are organic rice and pea proteins. We’ll get to these in a second, but first, here’s what you’ll find amongst other ingredients:

  • Natural flavors
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Sweetly Stevia & StevioPure

We like that National Bodybuilding Co Protein has a very clean formula; there are no unecessary fillers or chemicals in it. And it’s completely naturally sweetened and flavored, which is great! We don’t like aspartame or suclarose. They’ve been linked to a whole host of side effects, including gut dysbiosis.

Okay, so National Bodybuilding Co. Vegan Protein is off to a good start. But the question that’s probably on your mind right now is; “How does it compare to whey protein?”

Whey vs Organic Pea & Rice Protein

Whey has enjoyed lots of popularity ever since the Golden Era of bodybuilding, and continues to be a strong choice for many athletes around the world today. However, it’s no secret that whey proteins have their downsides. Even if they’re not ultra-processed (most are), whey proteins might not be in line with your goals if your body can’t tolerate them very well – leading to inflammation and digestive upset. Whey protein also requires more raw materials to make the final product, making it less eco-friendly than plant-based protein powders.

As far as National Bodybuilding Co’s Pea and Rice proteins go, they are at least as effective as whey protein when it comes to boosting muscle growth. In fact, recent evidence shows rice protein absorbs 30% faster and more efficiently into the muscle tissue than whey. Not only that, but pea and rice proteins are shown to offer benefits like improved digestion & weight loss, and better cardiovascular function. They’re cleaner too, meaning you won’t get bloating, sluggishness or other side effects commonly linked to whey protein.

Another benefit of rice protein, specifically, is that it’s very high in anabolic amino acid leucine. Leucine is one of the three BCAAs that are crucial for muscle recovery. Pea protein, on the other hand, can stabilize your blood sugar levels – reducing junk food cravings in the process. Pea protein also lowers blood pressure thanks to its circulation-boosting effects.

Our Thoughts on the National Bodybuilding Co. Vegan Protein Formula

We think it’s an excellent formula for anyone who wants to gain the benefits of plant-based nutrition. If you’re a bodybuilder who wants to get the cleanest source of protein in your diet, then we definitely recommend looking into National Bodybuilding Co. Vegan Protein.

It’s just as effective at whey in terms of muscle recovery, and even more effective at promoting fullness, digestion, and circulation in muscle tissue.

Side Effects

As far as our experience goes, there were none. Rice and pea proteins in general are well-studied when it comes to their safety in long-term use.

Actually, this is the biggest advantage of National Bodybuilding Co. Vegan Protein compared to whey protein supplements. It’s easier your digestion and absorbs more efficiently – leading to bigger benefits, without causing bloating or stomach pain!

How Has it Worked for Us?

This is Ivan writing. Me and Gabriel both trialed National Bodybuilding Co. Protein for 45 days to see what effects it would have on our digestion, muscle strength, and recovery.

Almost right away I felt a difference. Before my morning gym session, I took 1 scoop (20g protein) and set off to the gym. I started off with a 15 minute warm-up as usual which consisted of cycling on a stationary bike.

Once I was fully warmed up, I went over to the heavy bag. I first noticed I wasn’t sluggish, my feet felt lighter, with more energy. I can attribute this down to easy digestion of the organic pea and rice protein, and them being hypoallergenic.

After 4 hellish rounds, I felt I could box for longer – and so I did. After spending another hour in the lifting room working on my upper body strength and stretching, I realized I shouldn’t overdo it. This is when I headed back home, but still with plenty in the tank to carry on.

About 2 hours after the workout, I had another serving of National Bodybuilding Co. Vegan Protein. At this point, I can say that my hunger subsided and my energy was sustained during the day. Typically when using a whey protein, I don’t feel the same. I’d soon get tired and hungry.

After 6 weeks of using this advanced organic protein supplement, I can say with certainty that my recovery has improved. I feel leaner, my muscles have grown stronger, and I can spend longer in the weight-room without getting as tired.

Throughout this trialing period, Gabriel had similar results, but also reported an increase in his PRs (including on the bench and squat).

Price and Value for Money?

Each 637g tub (20 servings) will cost you $40. We rate this as excellent value for money when you consider the advanced manufacturing that’s gone into National Bodybuilding Co. Full Prep Vegan Protein.

It’s organic, the flavors and sweeteners are all-natural, and it absorbs better than whey powders. Should we go on!?

Where to Buy?

    1. Durgan, yellow and green peas are among the most researched vegan sources of protein. While they do have estrogenic activity, they’ve been shown to help with muscle building, fat loss, and improving recovery in male athletes without any common side effects like gynecomastia, weight gain, etc.

      Hope that helps!
