Welcome to our Chemix Cortibloc review. This supplement is designed to ‘block’ stress hormones such as cortisol, preventing them from causing unwanted weight gain. But how will it work for you? We share a short summary below, followed by a more detailed analysis.
[CHEMIX CORTIBLOC SUMMARY] This is an underwhelming product. It costs a lot, but it doesn’t deliver on all of its promises. With only 2 ingredients in the formula, one of which is black pepper, you have to wonder if it’s a great value for money. In our opinion, it’s not. The other ingredient lacks research and is generally a fairly week formula with a lot of the core ingredients missing.
About Chemix Cortibloc
Chemix Cortibloc is a suplement sold in the UK and other parts of the world. It claims to help you with managing cortisol levels and its negative effects on the body.
Cortisol is best known as a stress hormone. Although we might have a negative perception of it, cortisol has an important function in our body. It manages metabolism, keeps inflammation down, regulates our blood pressure, controls our sleep cycle, and boosts our energy in a stressful situation so we can tackle it better. After the stressful event has passed, cortisol levels should restore to its balance and let the body return to its homeostasis and a more relaxed state.
However, modern life and its fast pace could cause our cortisol levels to get out control, putting us in constant „fight or flight“ mode which can lead to a number of problems, such as fatigue, rapid weight gain, stress and exhaustion, even anxiety and depression, sleep problems, digestion and heart disease. Therefore, since most of us are overly stressed, something like Cortibloc could help us deal better with day to day challenges and live our life with more ease.
Cortibloc is a cortisol manager and fat burner that helps you reduce cortisol levels and relieve stress. Over time, our adrenal system also can be affected by stress, and our body often responses to it by creating fat deposits. That’s where Cortibloc’s fat burning formula kicks in, with its metabolism boosting support which helps you to get rid of unwanted stored fat. Cortibloc contains potent adaptogens that help our body to become more resistant to stress which allows you to deal better with daily challenges.
How does Cortibloc work, does it help and is it efficient, and does it deliver within the price range, we will answer in the review below.
Cortibloc consists of two active ingredients – Emodin and Bioperine® (piperine).
Emodin is an active herbal component found in the roots, leaves, and bark of several plants. Emodin in Cortibloc is extracted from the herb known as Japanese knotweed.
Due to its laxative effect, emodin has found its place in traditional Chinese medicine for helping to treat digestive issues. In recent times, some studies made on animals suggest emodin’s positive effect in cancer and conditions such as cardiovascular disease, non-alcoholic liver disease and osteoporosis.
Data from animal and experimental studies show emodin has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects that may prove useful in osteoporosis, cardiovascular, and metabolic disorders.
However, studies have shown that emodin has very poor absorption (less than 3%) after oral dosing. Luckily, the simultaneous application of emodin with piperine has been shown to drastically improve its absorption, with a 221% increase. That’s why in Cortibloc emodin comes in combination with Bioperine, whose main ingredient is piperine.
Bioperine® is a registered product of extracts from black pepper fruits and it has been used as an enhancer for over 20 years. As already said, its main compound is piperine, which is an active ingredient found in black pepper and is responsible for black peppers’ specific spice and taste. Black pepper is commonly used as a spice in human diets, but besides that, it is widely used as a medicine and preservative, especially in Asian countries.
Bioperine extracted from black pepper fruits contains 95% of piperine, which is well known for its beneficial physiological effects. It stimulates the digestive enzymes of the pancreas, lowers lipid peroxidation, protects against oxidative damage, and enhances the absorption, and thus effects of a number of therapeutic drugs and nonmedical compounds.
Bioperine has many health benefits, with the most notable one being increased nutrient absorption by at least 30%.
This means you get more effective nutrition absorption out of the food you consume, which is very important for essential nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, but also other health beneficial compounds. With many nutrients, you only absorb a fraction of what you ingest. Therefore, when combined with Bioperine, you should get much better absorption. Also, Bioperine improves your metabolism by improving your thermogenesis.
Basically, that means that it increases your internal temperature and helps you break down your fat cells. However, this effect is slight and you shouldn’t expect Bioperine do all the work for you. That means that if you want a noticeable effect, a more comprehensive weight loss plan is needed for its full effect.
Cortibloc claims it helps with stress, however, no ingredient with proven positive effects on reducing stress levels can be found in it. Emodin and piperine have shown some good anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, however, they have no proven effects on lowering cortisol levels in the body and thus helping you to deal with stress.
They have some effect on the metabolism of fat cells and might be effective as fat burners, but besides that, we don’t see how they can help you in lowering your stress levels. In our opinion, to be fully effective it misses natural herbal compounds with proven effects on lowering cortisol levels, such as ashwagandha.
How to Use Cortibloc (Dosage Instructions)
Take one capsule twice a day. Although not directly stated, it would be good to take each capsule after a meal with a glass of water. It is not recommended to take Cortibloc for longer than 4 weeks, followed by a minimum of a 4-week break.
Overdose of any anthraquinone laxatives, therefore emodin can result in intestinal pain and severe diarrhea with consequent electrolyte imbalance and dehydration. Therefore Cortibloc should be used cautiously.
Price and Value for Money?
With the price of $54.99, Cortibloc belongs in the category of some of the more expensive supplements. Because of its questionable effects on reducing cortisol levels in the body and its high price, we think that you can get much better alternatives on the market, with lower prices and better efficiency.
Conclusion to Chemix Cortibloc Review
Although Cortibloc claims to help you with stress, with no proven stress relieving ingredients in it, we don’t see how Cortibloc could live up to its claims.
As a fat burner, Cortibloc shows some effect, but if you’re looking for something to help you lose weight and help you burn fat there are much cheaper products on the market.
Overall, in our opinion Cortibloc falls short when it comes to its promised effects, especially in that price range and we think there are some cheaper and more effective products on the market.
- Bioperine’s increased nutrient apsorption ability, which is useful if you take other supplements aswell
- Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of piperine and emodin
- Although minor, Bioperine has some fat burning effects
- No ingredients with proven effects on lowering cortisol levels in the body, therefore questionable effects in helping with dealing with stress
